The Paul Allen Collection

The Paul Allen Collection was an auction of over 60 masterworks spanning 500 years of art history. The artists in this exhibition presented a comprehensive survey of art history, ranging from Botticelli, Van Gogh, Gauguin, and modern masters including Bacon and Freud.

The Paul Allen Collection was the most valuable single owner collection to ever come to auction and broke records with sales totaling 1.6 billions dollars.

I designed our exterior and entry spaces to convey the historical importance of the collection with interactive kiosks presenting information on each work. By the time visitors entered our gallery space we wanted them all to be experts.

This allowed the galleries space to be clean and refined, to let the art itself shine.  I employed angular planes to create a fresh, energetic flow, and generated conversations between works from a range of eras.
