The Rockefeller sale at Christie’s was comprised of 1,500 objects, 4 tours and preview exhibitions, and 6 auctions over 10 days. Achieving a total of $835,000,344 it was the most significant charitable auction in history and the highest price paid for a private collection. Filling 25,000 sq. feet of gallery space, the exhibition was a monumental undertaking for my small in-house team. The task was to take inspiration from the Rockefeller homes and style, but present the property in a new context where these important and historical objects could be timeless.
